Residents are bundling up as they brace themselves for the arctic blast that has been lingering over the Bronx.
Everyone is urged to avoid going outdoors if possible and to keep pets out of the cold.
The city is urging residents to immediately report any loss of heat or hot water and to never use a gas stove for warmth.
Residents are advised to check on neighbors and loved ones who may be having difficulty with the cold.
News 12 The Bronx meteorologists say temperatures Friday are expected to be a bit warmer with highs around 33 degrees.
