Two men have been charged with multiple burglaries and car thefts in Bridgewater.
Police say 31-year-old Nicholas Soto, of Somerville, and 25-year-old Daniel Murray, of Bound Brook, stole items from cars Tuesday in the Bradly Gardens area. They say a resident on Beach Avenue saw the two men in the act on their surveillance cameras.
Officials say a total of six motor vehicle burglaries were reported in the Bradly Gardens section of town. They say forced entry was not use in any of the burglaries.
Soto and Murray were arrested after they were found in possession of items stolen from multiple vehicles, police say. Both men are being held at Somerset County Jail. A third suspect remains on the run.
Police say Murray also had a baggy containing a white powdery substance on him that is suspected to be a controlled and dangerous substance. Charges for possession of CDS are pending laboratory testing.
Bridgewater police are reminding residents to remove valuables from their vehicles, lock doors and report suspicious activity.
