The Brick Township Police Department has filed several charges against a resident after they surrendered 133 cats and dogs.
Police say that Jeffrey Finlay called the police to his Mantoloking Road home on May 4 because he wanted to turn over the cats and dogs that he had inside his home.
Police say that it took about 24 hours to remove 130 cats and three dogs from the home.
They say that all of the animals appeared to have been properly fed. Police are waiting on vet reports to see if the animals had any health issues.
“All animals are being sheltered at the Northern and Southern Ocean County Animal Facilities which are under direction of the Ocean County Health Department,” police wrote in a statement.
Finlay was charged with failure to provide care of a living animal or creature. He also faces two township ordinance violations for failure to license an animal and for having too many pets.
