A Boy Scout spearheaded renovations to a Bergen County dog run.
Michael Liguori, of Dumont Boy Scout Troop 64, completed the project to achieve his Eagle Scout rank.
Nearly 40 volunteers -- including other scouts, family, and friends -- helped him complete the renovations.
The Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to dedicate the refurbishments. Liguori says the improvements are significantly better.
“The final product…it was night and day compared to what it used to be,” Liguori said. “They don't have to deal with the flooding anymore, they have newer wood chips, and they don't have ditches all over, so the dog’s chances of injury are less.”
Liguori said that he hopes to be a veterinarian.
