A man from Boonton is climbing to new heights and plans to scale one of the world's largest mountain peaks, all from the seat of his wheelchair.

Jeff Harmon is planning to scale Tanzania's Mount Kilimanjaro, which soars over 19,000 feet.

Since 2017, he's been in a wheelchair because of a neurological disease.

The trek is possible thanks his teammates from Fitness, Fellowship, Faith and to a group called More Heart Than Scars, which helps those with disabilities overcome goals.

For the next seven months, Harmon and his F3 team of 30 people will be training seven days a week.

"I wanted this climb to matter in the world more than just me doing a cool thing. The only limits that you have are the ones that you decide are limits," said Harmon.

The climb starts on Sept. 7 and will take four days to reach the peak of Kilimanjaro.

Harmon says he hopes to inspire others to conquer their possible through his nonprofit, My Impossible.
