The borough of Fair Lawn has lifted its boil water advisory following a massive water main break in Paterson. The pipe ruptured Sunday afternoon near North 1st and Arch Street. Officials say repairs are now complete and the water is safe to drink.

  • Run faucets for three to five minutes to flush plumbing.
  • Empty and clean automatic ice makers and water chillers.
  • Drain and refill hot water heaters if set below 113 degrees.
  • Regenerate or clean water softeners and cartridge filters.
  • Drain and refill water reservoirs in tall buildings, if applicable.
