Beoing CEO David Calhoun stated that the company made a “mistake” following an incident involving an Alaska Airlines plane last week.
A flight carrying 177 people made an emergency landing shortly after takeoff from Portland last Friday when part of the plane’s fuselage broke loose and left a gaping hole in the side of it.
The CEO’s admission is supposedly in reference to the production of 737 Max 9 planes. However, it is unclear if Calhoun specified exactly what went wrong.
The FAA grounded most Boeing 737 Max 9 planes as the company conducts an investigation about the cause of the incident.
