A Bellmawr man has been arrested months after police say he assaulted a couple and tried to tie them up during a home invasion, according to police.
Edward Dillard, 62, is facing assault and home invasion charges.
Police say the incident happened in February, when a man was outside his home and Dillard approached and began attacking him.
The assault continued into the garage, where Dillard allegedly threatened the couple with a box cutter and tried to tie them up with rope.
Officers say Dillard fled when police arrived. He remained on the run until a DNA match from evidence at the scene linked him to the crime.
