It's been quite a ride so far at the Jersey Shore, from heat waves to floods to rip currents and now, some sunshine.
The sunshine is hopeful to boost business at Cathy Gallo's new Playa Bowls in Asbury Park, which opened a few weeks ago.
“At least a month more of this beautiful weather and beach and September is great,” says owner Cathy Gallo. “Can't wait until October. Asbury Park is a year-round place now.”
Some are hoping for a break from work before heading back to college.
“Just been a lot of working not too much fun as much as last summer,” says college student Liam Armstrong, of Sparta. “It's a good thing, good work experience and really enjoying it.”
The number one complaint heard this morning about the first half of summer is already seeing back-to-school commercials on TV.
As Jenkinson’s in Point Pleasant Beach nears its 90th anniversary celebration next week, management just wants to see some predictions of nothing but sunshine.
Jenkinson’s is hosting its day and night long anniversary party next Thursday, ending with a planned giant fireworks display over the beach.
