A man from Bay Shore has been found guilty of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend. He now faces up to 25 years behind bars.
The incident took place in 2022, according to officials. The victim was out for a walk when the criminal, Holmark Garces, 35, grabbed her by her hair and threw her in his car.
Garces then led police on a chase while holding a kitchen knife to her leg before being surrounded by the NYPD in Brooklyn. He made one last attempt to flee, crashing into several police cars before he was arrested.
Garces is set to be sentenced in June.
