Authorities: 17-year-old charged with attempted murder in connection with Tuesday’s Seaside Park shooting

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office has announced a 17-year-old was taken into custody Tuesday night in connection with a shooting in Seaside Park.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office has announced a 17-year-old was taken into custody Tuesday night in connection with a shooting in Seaside Park.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the juvenile has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault, among other charges.
The shooting happened Tuesday around 11:45 a.m. in the area of I Street.
Police were met by witnesses to the shooting, and a short time later, a white BMW pulled up to a marked police vehicle and said one of the passengers was the victim of the shooting. The victim was taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, treated for injuries, and released. 
Following a thorough investigation, the juvenile was identified as the shooter.  A warrant for the juvenile's arrest was executed, and the juvenile was taken into custody without incident. 
The juvenile was processed at Seaside Park Police Headquarters, and is currently lodged at the Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center.
