The FBI and Edison police are asking for the public's help in identifying a robber believed to be responsible for a series of bank robberies throughout New Jersey.
Police say one of the suspect?s targets was Provident Bank on Amboy Avenue in Edison. The suspect was allegedly captured on surveillance tape after leaving the bank with cash.
Customers who were inside the bank during the heist say it was a terrifying experience, even though the robber did not appear to be carrying any weapons. Police say the suspect works by handing tellers a note demanding they quietly hand over cash and then quickly exits to a waiting vehicle.
Police say the man seen in the surveillance video is a 5-foot-9 white male in his 20s with blond hair.
