Authorities have released the names of the two people killed and two injured when their helicopter hit power lines in northern New York while conducting installation work.
State police on Wednesday identified the deceased as pilot Robert T. Hoban Jr., 56, of Shamang, and Jeremy Kearns, 30, of Massena, New York, one of three passengers.
Two other passengers were injured Tuesday afternoon when the helicopter hit power lines and burst into flames over a plowed farm field along a rural road in Beekmantown.
According to troopers, Benjamin McAllister, 30, of Hopkinton, New York, and Scott Fabia, 34, of Hyde Park, New York, were kept at a hospital for observation.
Officials say the two injured men work for Northline Utilities, a contractor that inspects and maintains power lines.
