Authorities have found the body of a marathon swimmer who disappeared during an organized swim in the Hudson River.
According to authorities, Charles Van Der Horst, 67, went underwater Friday afternoon, and never came back up.
Authorities say Van Der Horst was competing in the 8 Bridges Hudson River Swim when another competitor saw him go underwater.
The Coast Guard, as well as other agencies, searched the river for hours until late Friday night.
A funeral for him was held Tuesday in North Carolina, hours before his body was found.
