A police standoff situation in Monmouth County has ended peacefully.
The incident happened Friday afternoon at Sam’s Mobile Home Park on Route 36 in Hazlet.
The Monmouth County prosecutor tweeted that police officers responded to a call “for a person in distress,” but the tweet did not elaborate any further.
The emergency prompted a very large police response. Witnesses tell News 12 New Jersey that dozens of police officers were spotted in the area, along with members of the SWAT team.
Authorities say that the situation ended peacefully without anyone being hurt.
It was unclear if any charges would be filed.
