A police officer shot and killed a man in Secaucus Sunday night, according to the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General.
Authorities say that the shooting happened just after 5:30 p.m. Sunday at a home on the 300 block of Sea Isle Key in the Harmon Cove residential development.
The attorney general’s office says that Secaucus police officers were called to the address for reports of a domestic incident involving a gunshot. Authorities say that when the officers arrived, they found 68-year-old Antony Russo outside armed with a handgun.
Officials say that Russo fired at the officers and that multiple officers returned fire, striking Russo and killing him. No other injuries were reported.
The state attorney general’s office investigates all police-involved shootings, as required by law.
