Police say the driver of a vehicle that crashed into a New Providence police cruiser and injured two officers on Friday is under arrest.
Johnny Ho, of Flushing, Queens, faces several charges, including DUI and aggravated assault, after being accused of driving under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.
Both officers who were hurt were released from the hospital.
Authorities say the two were conducting a traffic stop near Route 78 when a Honda Odyssey struck the rear of their cruiser at around 5 p.m.
The crash caused a chain reaction between the cruiser and the stopped vehicle, according to police.
Authorities say the officers and Ho were then hospitalized.
The occupants of the stopped vehicle were evaluated by EMS at the scene and released.
The New Providence Police Department and Office of Emergency Management later announced on Facebook that the officers were released and are healing from their injuries.
