Police in Linden shot and killed a dog that allegedly attacked two officers.
Officials say that Linden police officers were on Dewitt Street conducting a welfare check on multiple dogs. They say that two officers were with one of the people at the location when one of the dogs attacked them. This is when one of the officers shot the dog.
Police say that the shooting happened around 11 a.m. Friday. One officer was treated at the scene. The other was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
One neighbor told News 12 New Jersey that she looked out her window, saw the officers and heard two shots.
It was not immediately clear what type of dog attacked the officers.
