A shooting in a Monmouth County community has left three people hospitalized, according to investigators.
The shooting happened on the 1600 block of Sewall Avenue in Neptune Township shortly before 10 p.m. Monday.
The three victims were being treated at a hospital for undisclosed injuries. They were identified as three men, ages 22, 21 and 16. But their names and further details on their conditions were not released.
No other injuries were reported in the shooting. No arrests have been made.
Authorities have not said what type of weapon was used in the shooting or how many shooters may have been involved, nor have they released a motive.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office is leading the investigation.
Gun violence in this area of Monmouth County is not uncommon.
Asbury Park police were involved in a deadly shooting on Seventh Avenue and Webb Street on July 23. Just a few hours later on Sewall Avenue in Asbury Park, 32-year-old Jabar Busby was shot and killed.
A person was shot multiple times on July 26 on 10th Avenue near Ridge Avenue. A drive-by shooting on Ridge and Monroe on Aug. 2 left two men shot. Two others were arrested.
