A man was fatally struck by a train Friday morning at the Aberdeen-Matawan Station in Monmouth County.
New Jersey Transit says the North Jersey Coast Line train departed from Bay Head around 6 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive at Penn Station at 8 a.m. The man was struck and killed by the train just past the Aberdeen-Matawan Station near Cliffwood Avenue.
New Jersey Transit says no other injuries were reported from the 350 people on board.
Authorities could be seen blocking off the area of Railroad Crossing and Cliffwood Avenue to remove the body and clear the tracks following the accident.
The North Jersey Coast Line says rail services were suspended between Long Branch and South Amboy and later restored.
Rail services are operating, but New Jersey Transit says it is subject to delays for up to 60 minutes.
