Authorities: Man fatally struck by New Jersey Transit train
MORRIS TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities say a man has died after being hit by a New Jersey Transit train in Morris County.

The agency says the accident occurred around 10:25 a.m. Monday at the Convent Station in Morris Township. But it's not clear why the man was on the tracks, and further details about the incident have not been disclosed.

None of the 50 passengers and crew aboard the Morris and Essex Line train were injured in the accident. But service on the line was suspended in both directions between Morristown and Summit while the investigation was ongoing. Service was restored around 1:45 p.m.
The train had departed from Boonton and was bound for Hackettstown when the accident occurred.

The man's name has not been released.
