Authorities say a man was fatally shot in front of his Ewing Township home Sunday morning.
Police say 58-year-old William Blackwell was found dead in front of his home on Homecrest Avenue after being shot just before 3:00 a.m.
They say Blackwell was getting out of his pickup truck when he was shot.
Residents wonder if the incident was random because they say it's hard to believe the man, who is described as a quiet and sweet person, would be targeted.
They say Blackwell kept to himself and was living with his mother and sister. He had also lost his wife to illness last year.
"It's upsetting, it's upsetting to have this happen in your neighborhood," said neighbor Wally Johnson. "There's no reason for it."
So far no arrests have been made, and police have not released any information about a suspect.
