Dion Marsh is facing three counts of attempted murder and bias intimidation after police say he assaulted a person in Lakewood, stole their car, hit two other people who were walking and stabbed a man.
Surveillance video appears to show Marsh hanging off the side of a car that police say he was trying to steal before the driver got away.
The Lakewood community was left shaken and elected officials condemned the acts of violence.
"I'm a grandchild of Holocaust survivors, as are many in our town, and we won't stand for it," said Lakewood Committeeman Meir Lichtenstein.
"This has to be the most serious investigation and prosecution and it needs to send the unmistakable message that ‘never again’ means ‘never again’," added Rep. Chris Smith.
Authorities said two of the victims re in critical but stable condition and are improving.
