Authorities: Joyriders strike, seriously injure pedestrian; hit several vehicles
Authorities say two men who took a car for a joyride in Jersey City struck and seriously injured a pedestrian, and hit several vehicles, before they abandoned the car.
According to police, the car was reported missing around Monday at 11 a.m.
Police say the car hit the woman a short time later and then struck two vans and a car.
The woman was hospitalized with serious injuries that are considered life-threatening, but it wasn't clear if anyone in the struck vehicles was injured.
Surveillance video caught the men abandoning the vehicle later Monday, but they were soon arrested following a foot chase.
The men have not been identified.
It wasn't known what charges they may be facing.
AP wire services helped contribute to this report.
