A 20-year-old man who was found bound, gagged and shot near a Hamilton Township creek was apparently meeting someone in order to buy video games advertised on social media.
Danny Diaz-Delgado was found dead March 24, having been shot multiple times.
Police say that Diaz-Delgado was trying to by a Sony PlayStation for his brother, which was up for sale on social media.
According to the Trentonian, Diaz-Delgado was kidnapped by the seller and tortured in order to get access to his debit card PIN. The kidnapper apparently wanted more money, according to the report.
The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said 29-year-old Rufus Thompson of Trenton was arrested Saturday at a friend's house by county homicide investigators and federal marshals. Thompson is charged with murder, felony murder, robbery, kidnapping and weapons offenses.
A GoFundMe page was set up by Diaz-Delgado’s loved ones to pay for funeral expenses.
