Authorities: Former Plainfield mayoral candidate indicted for alleged attempt to mail fraudulent voter applications

Officials say Dr. Henrilynn Ibezim also lied to law enforcement during the investigation to cover up his actions.

The New Jersey Attorney General's Office says a former Plainfield mayoral candidate accused of trying to mail fraudulent voter registration applications has been indicted on several charges.
Dr. Henrilynn Ibezim attempted to mail nearly 1,000 fraudulent registration forms to Union County officials during his 2021 campaign for mayor, according to authorities.
Officials say he also lied to law enforcement during the investigation to cover up his actions.
