Two sisters have been found dead at a restaurant in Hillside, and police say the killings are related to the death of a man police found earlier this week.
Police discovered the body of Akanni Martin, 45, Monday morning in a car parked behind a rental car business in the 1700 block of Morris Avenue in Union Township. Police say Martin had been shot in the head. A weapon was found nearby.
Police later found the bodies of the mother of Martin's children and her sister at the restaurant he co-owned, K & K Jamaican Restaurant, in the 1500 block of Summit Avenue.
An autopsy Wednesday revealed both women were the victims of homicide, according to the prosecutor.
A cause of death was not released.
Police say there is no further threat to the community.
Anyone with information is urged to call prosecutor's office Lt. Johnny Ho at 908-403-8271 or Detective Lamar Hartsfield at 908-451-1873.
