Authorities say a man and woman were fatally shot, and two other people injured while sitting in a sport utility vehicle in Paterson.
The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office said Monday that the four were in an SUV Sunday around 11:15 p.m. when someone opened fire.
The driver attempted to flee before the SUV came to a stop.
According to prosecutors, officers found a 48-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman dead.
A 32-year-old woman was critically injured and a 30-year-old man had injuries not considered life-threatening.
All are Paterson residents.
The names of the victims haven't been released.
Other information about the shooting hasn't been released and no arrests have been announced.
Prosecutors say there were three other shootings in Paterson Friday night and early Saturday.
