The Atlantic County Office of Emergency Management was on alert Monday as heavy rain and strong winds move across New Jersey.
New Jersey saw several inches of rain on Monday as the storm traveled through the area.
No major power outages were reported for the county. But OEM officials monitored the winds and the potential for flooding in flood-prone areas in Absecon and Egg Harbor Township. They said that the major concern was the wind.
“Depending on the winds and how bad the winds get, trees come down with the saturated ground will take powerlines down. We hope we don't see any power outages but again we're prepared for that,” says Atlantic County OEM director Vincent Jones.
Atlantic City Electric had crews at the ready to make repairs and restore power in case of any outages.
