Police say a man from Atlantic City held two women hostage on New Year’s Eve and threatened to kill them with a knife.
Officials say Justin Williams, 39, assaulted two women that he knew on the first block of North Georgia Avenue and held them against their will on Sunday. One woman escaped as police officers arrived on scene. The second woman was released after Justin Williams surrendered, officials say.
Investigators say Williams threatened to kill both victims while in possession of a large knife. They also say he assaulted the victims, stole their property and attempted to throw one victim out of a window.
The knife used in the incident was recovered, and Williams was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
Police say one of the women was transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the assault while the other woman refused medical attention.
