The group First Night Morris County will ring in the new year Sunday night with a lively celebration of arts and culture.
The event, which is on its 32nd year, is a staple in the Morristown community. Revelers will find over 200 artists and more than 70 performances at 20 venues across the city. The event also boasts a children's fun fest, jazz acts, comedians, a film fest and much more.
"It's amazing to see the town really light up and take the stage because that's what it's all about. We are here as a visitor center but it's exciting to see the town really come to life," said Noelle Gemma, of First Night Morris County.
Gemma and her coworkers at First Night and the Morris County Tourism Bureau have been preparing months. The celebration draws in thousands of people.
"It's really a great way to celebrate the successes of 2023 and the promise of 2024,” said Craig Schlosser, president and CEO Morris County Economic Alliance and Tourism Bureau.
There are also two firework displays – one at 9:15 p.m. and another at midnight. The fun begins at 4:45 p.m.
