Armed theft of high-performance Dodge Charger from Washington Township home ends in Philadelphia

An armed theft of a high-performance vehicle from a residence took place early Saturday morning that ended with the car crossing into Philadelphia.

At approximately 3:17 a.m. on March 14, two masked suspects targeted a red 2019 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack parked on Doe Court in Washington Township.

Surveillance footage captured one suspect standing guard with what appeared to be a Glock handgun equipped with an extended magazine, while a second suspect smashed a rear passenger window to gain entry.

Investigators say the suspects pushed the 485-horsepower car across the street to the parking lot of Hurffville Elementary School. There, they were met by two other vehicles — a stolen Dodge and an Acura — before starting the Charger and fleeing the area.

License plate readers tracked the stolen vehicle passing through the Five Points intersection at 3:22 a.m. By 3:29 a.m., the car had crossed the Walt Whitman Bridge into Philadelphia, followed closely by another stolen vehicle.

The stolen Dodge is described as a four-door sedan with tinted windows, black wheels, a performance hood, and "Daytona" badging on the rear spoiler. Police recovered shattered glass in the victim's driveway where the entry occurred.

The department issued a reminder that high-performance vehicles remain frequent targets for organized theft. Residents are encouraged to park in garages when possible, use steering wheel locks, and move key fobs away from home entryways to prevent signal boosting.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Washington Township Police Department at 856-589-0330, ext. 1143.
