A 62-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver while crossing Saw Mill River Road in Hawthorne Monday night.
Police say the driver fled the scene, leaving the victim severely injured and later pronounced dead at Westchester Medical Center.
Following a collaborative investigation involving Mount Pleasant, Westchester County and Ossining police departments, the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run was located in Ossining. Fabricio Argudo Saldana, a resident of Ossining, was arrested.
Saldana, 35, was charged with one felony count of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
The roadway near the Amazon warehouse was closed in both directions for several hours as authorities conducted their investigation. It reopened overnight.
