Annual NJ Special Olympics fundraiser to cause delays Friday

The annual Law Enforcement Torch Run, which raises money for New Jersey Special Olympics, will cause traffic delays in several communities on Friday.
South Brunswick police officers are among those participating in the Torch Run. They will be running on Route 130 Friday morning, on Ridge Road during mid-day and on Route 27 in the evening.
Expected delay times for each roadway are as follows:
- Route 130 south from North Brunswick to Cranbury -- 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
- Ridge Road from South Brunswick High School to Crossroads -- Noon to 1:30 p.m.
- Route 27 south from North Brunswick to Princeton -- 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The officers will be running with Special Olympic students at both South Brunswick High School and Crossroads Middle School. Those two schools, in addition to Monmouth Junction Elementary School, have helped officers raise more than $7,000 for the Special Olympics this year.
In addition to South Brunswick, officers in Bogota, Elizabeth, Mount Laurel and Parisippany will also participate in the Torch Run.
