‘American Idol’ alum Constantine Maroulis brings classic rock sounds to the Jersey Shore

New Jersey musician Constantine Maroulis is bringing the sounds of classic rock to the Jersey Shore with his concert, "Foreigners Journey."
The “American Idol” season 4 alum and his band will deliver their interpretation of songs by the groups Foreigner and Journey, as well as other artists who became prominent in the 1970s and 1980s.
"They know me for these songs already from ‘Rock of Ages’ and ‘American Idol,’" Maroulis says, "We put our own twist on it."
Maroulis, who received a Tony Award nomination for his Broadway performance in the musical "Rock of Ages," says he's drawn to the theatricality of 80s rock.
"I always grew up with that duality, the Jekyll and Hyde maybe, the theater geek and the wannabe rock star. And I think these big arena rock songs are rock opera,” Maroulis says.
Maroulis, a Wykoff resident, will perform "Foreigners Journey" on Aug. 18 at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center in Deal. Show and ticket information is available HERE.
