Just two hours after the Department of Health announced 9,000 new available appointments for the monkeypox vaccine, all were booked.
This comes as the city reports more than 2,130 cases of the illness.
While most are in Manhattan, the Bronx is reporting 310 cases and Brooklyn is reporting 472.
According to city data, the cases are most prevalent among men between the ages of 25 and 45, but anyone can contract the virus regardless of age, gender, or sexual orientation.
As many are still racing to get the vaccine, the federal governments supply is being stretched.
This past week, the FDA approved administering the vaccine intradermally, which allows one-fifth of the regular dose to provide proper protection.
While all appointments were booked up, the Department of Health says more will become available soon. They also encourage people to keep checking back as some people cancel their appointments.
