State leaders say they want
vaccination numbers to increase, and there is now hope, especially since today is the first
time all six of New Jersey's mega sites will be open.
The two latest vaccination
sites opening, at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford and the Atlantic City
Convention Center, are already completely booked, but they do plan to
add
more appointment times soon.
The two sites join four other
mega vaccination sites in New Jersey: Moorestown Mall in Burlington County,
Rowan College of South Jersey in Gloucester County, Rockaway Townsquare in
Morris County and the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center in Middlesex
County.
People who are getting the
shot are very happy with how easy it’s been.
“Came in and it couldn’t of
been easier,” says Gary Topche, of Marlboro.
Each center is only offering
the shot to priority groups identified by the state, which is health care
professionals, first responders, people over the age of 65, those with chronic
health conditions and smokers.
Residents are asked to check
Hackensack Meridian Health's
website to see when they can begin making more
appointments at the Meadowlands site.
