Once again the FAA says a ground stop or delay is possible at Newark Liberty International Airport this morning.
At 5 a.m., flight departures out of Newark were reduced by 4 percent.
The FAA has EWR listed as a possible ground stop or delay starting at 10 a.m.
Once again, a NOTAM for EWR was issued that says unscheduled flights are not allowed.
Staffing shortages are largely to blame as air traffic controllers are still not getting paid and calling out during the shutdown.
The FAA says the flight reduction is a safety precaution.
Thanksgiving and winter holiday travel starting in about two weeks and it is one of the busiest travel times.
