The future father-in-law of accused Craigslist killer Phillip Markoff says his daughter is home in Little Silver having difficulty processing the events of recent days.

Markoff is accused of murdering a masseuse he met online in a Massachusetts hotel. His fiancée, Little Silver native Meghan McAllister, has been standing by Markoff. In his first public comments, McAllister's father Jim says Meghan and the family are getting through the ordeal through the help and prayers of friends and family.

"Everybody's been wonderful," he says. "As expected, [she'] not well. She's still confident in Phil."

Markoff was put on suicide watch after authorities found shoelace marks around his neck. Police are continuing to investigate the Craigslist slaying, but say he may have other victims. The underwear of one alleged victim was found in Markoff's apartment, authorities say.

Markoff is being held without bail in Boston. As of now, his and McAllister's August wedding in Long Branch is still on.
