Sept. 11 first responders gathered in Piscataway Monday to demand more federal funding to ensure the continuation of a medical monitoring program.
The clinic, which is run by the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, was set up specifically to monitor and treat 9/11-related health concerns. Patients of the clinic said they are grateful for the program and are confident in the doctors there. They also said they do not want to see the program end.
Congressman Frank Pallone joined the first responders in the call for more funding.
?It shouldn?t be the first responders to pay for their health care, they should get treatment,? Pallone said.
