7th NJ patient has Legionnaires' disease

(AP) - A seventh patient has tested positive forLegionnaires' disease at a New Brunswick hospital. Two patients who contracted the disease at Saint Peter'sUniversity Hospital died in the last two weeks.

(AP) - A seventh patient has tested positive forLegionnaires' disease at a New Brunswick hospital.
Two patients who contracted the disease at Saint Peter'sUniversity Hospital died in the last two weeks. Four others havetested positive for the disease, a type of pneumonia that can befatal in the elderly or people with weakened immune systems.
A hospital spokeswoman says the latest patient had beendischarged from Saint Peter's but returned to the hospitalsuffering from pneumonia.
The first patient died on Sept. 12. The second death occurredMonday, two days after the patient tested positive.
Legionnaires' disease got its name in 1976 when 29 people diedafter attending an American Legion convention in Philadelphia.
