A 67-year-old man was killed in an overnight house fire in Sparrow Bush, according to the Orange County Office of Emergency Management.
The fire happened at a home at 11 Darragh Lane in Sparrow Bush, in the Town of Deerpark.
Orange County emergency management officials confirmed Friday morning that the fire was fatal and that the victim was a 67-year-old man. His identity has not been released, and officials could not immediately confirm whether his next of kin had been notified.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
An arson task force was called to the scene, but officials have not yet said whether arson is suspected or played a role in the fire.
