More than 50 teams from across New Jersey came together Saturday to play at the Jack Gardner Memorial Softball Tournament, which raises money for local children with disabilities and illnesses.
The softball event was first held 17 years ago and featured four teams playing on one field. The funds raised each year help children, like 11-year-old Thomas Kelly, who received money toward a liver transplant he needed when he was 5 months old.
The funds raised from this year's event will help two little girls. The committee has raised roughly $700,000 for local kids over the years.
