Three people are recovering after a stabbing outside the Van Dyke Houses in Brownsville — and so far, no one has been arrested.
Police say it happened just before 1 p.m. Sunday on Dumont Avenue.
A 25-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man are both stabbed in the abdomen. A 26-year-old woman is stabbed in the buttocks. All three were taken to the hospital and are expected to be OK.
Video shared with News 12 shows the chaotic moments leading up to it. In the clip, you can see a woman thrown to the ground and a man who appears to be holding a knife. At one point, someone is pushing a baby in a stroller through the scene.
Investigators have not said what led up to the fight. That’s still a big question.
Another challenge — police sources say the people who were hurt are not cooperating, which is making it harder to figure out exactly what happened and who was involved.
One neighbor who witnessed it from her window described how quickly things escalated.
“Everything was going so fast… they had him down… they were stabbing him up,” she said.
Others in the neighborhood say moments like this are unsettling.
“I don’t know if it’s getting worse or better… sometimes it looks like it’s getting better and then something happens and it goes back,” said Mike, a lifelong neighbor.
At this point, no one is in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
