3 people on the run after violent store robbery in Fordham

Police say it started when three people were trying to rob the place of its merchandise and the employees tried to intervene.

Police are searching for three people responsible for brutally beating Rainbow store employees the day before Christmas Eve.

According to the NYPD, the incident happened on Dec. 23, at around 6:40 p.m. inside 226 East Fordham Road.

Police say it started when three people were trying to rob the place of its merchandise and the employees tried to intervene.

The three people entered the store and started taking products, according to police.

A 22-year-old man tried to stop them and that's when two of the robbers punched and kicked him multiple times. In an attempt to stop the fight his coworkers, a 20-year-old woman and 45-year-old man, were also assaulted in the process. Police say they were also punched and kicked multiple times.

All three suspects ran off after towards Valentine Avenue and it is not clear if they got away with any merchandise..

All three of the employees were injured. The ones who tried to stop the fight have minor injuries. And the 22-year-old man who intervened first went to the hospital on his own and is in stable condition.
