Three school districts in Ocean County, with the latest being Toms River, have reached out to Gov. Phil Murphy asking that kids be allowed to ditch their mask before the start of the next school year.
In a letter to the governor, the board president said a majority of their teachers are already fully vaccinated, and many students will be by the fall.

The Central Regional superintendent recently made the same request, and parents in Point Pleasant rallied against masks.
Murphy has said the decision to keep masks on in schools was because vaccines have not been approved yet for kids under 12, but he has left the door open for kids in high schools not to wear them.
