Another small alligator was found in a lake at the Maple Lake Campground in Jackson Township.
Fisherman found the 2 ½-foot-long alligator on Tuesday and reported it to officials. The campground was closed, but people do fish in the lake.
An animal control officer used a baited fishhook to reel the alligator in. It is estimated to be about 2 years old. The alligator was turned over to a Fish and Game employee.
Although the alligator wasn't very large, neighbors say that they are worried.
"I don't know how quickly they grow. I would hate to come out and find one on my front porch one day," says Jackson resident Arlene Pinkasavage.
Another 2-foot-long alligator was found in the same lake in May. Animal control officers believe that both alligators were pets at one time and their owners dumped them in the lake when they started to get too big.
