A Brooklyn man has been charged following a hit-and-run on the Taconic State Parkway in Westchester County, state police say.

On Friday at 2:30 p.m., police saw a Ford Escape parked on the shoulder of the parkway near Exit 16 in Yorktown and a man lying on the ground nearby.

Police determined that a 47-year-old man left his vehicle and was struck by a 2026 Mazda driven by Richard Yusufov. They say Yusufov then left the scene following the crash.

The victim was taken to Westchester Medical Center with serious injuries.

Yorktown police later found Yusufov's vehicle, which matched the description of the vehicle involved and was significantly damaged.

Yusufov was charged with leaving the scene of an incident without reporting. He is expected to appear in the Town of Yorktown Court on Nov. 12.
