Yonkers Avenue reopens following fuel truck crash

Yonkers Avenue reopened Tuesday after a crash involving a fuel truck forced multiple road closures earlier in the day, according to police.
The crash occurred on the western portion of Midland Avenue near the intersection with Yonkers Avenue, on the Planet Fitness side of the Cross County Parkway.
Yonkers Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief James Kenny said the tanker was empty when it crashed, but environmental crews had to clean up diesel that leaked from the vehicle's cab.
Multiple people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Midland Avenue between Theresa and Yonkers avenues remained closed Tuesday night.
Police have not released information on what led to the crash.
