New York has declared a disaster emergency as measles cases continue to rise across the state.
The state Health Department said there are more than 100 measles cases statewide, including seven in New York City and four in Rockland County. Rockland County offcials say their cases occured in February.
Gov. Kathy Hochul's emergency order expands the number of health professionals who can administer the measles vaccine. The order now includes paramedics, pharmacists and midwives.
The action also gives nurses greater flexibility to order measles testing.
